- Smashwords is a book aggregator that will distribute your self-published book to major retailers, such as Amazon, Barnes and Noble, iBooks, etc.
- Kindle Manuscript Formatting Guide provides tutorials for formatting your novel for uploading.
- Pixabay has a wide selection of royalty-free images, if you prefer to create your own cover design.
- QueryTracker is a free database of literary agents (my preferred site).
- AgentQuery is a free database of literary agents.
- Manuscript Wish List - learn what agents are looking for.
- #MSWL - Twitter hashtag for "agents seeking..."
- How To Write A One-Page Synopsis

- Popular Baby Names By Decade (give your characters the perfect name)
- Purdue Owl - the go-to authority on all aspects or writing, including grammar and spelling
- Grammar Girl - short, friendly tips to improve your writing
- Daily Writing Tips - learn things you didn't even think you needed to know
- Absolute Write Water Cooler Forum - some people love it; some hate it. It's worth checking out.
- kboards - a forum for self-publishers, but valuable for all authors.
- QueryTracker Forum - a worthwhile discussion board.
